Battle Effectiveness

The Battle "E" is a prestigious military award presented to ships, submarines, and aircraft squadrons of the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard for excellence in overall readiness and performance. It is based on a competition that evaluates various aspects such as training, maintenance, and logistics.

Topper Company has adopted a similar system to award outstanding squadrons. Every quarter, all of the squadrons compete to be the best in an aspect of NJROTC (these include uniform inspection, PT, knowledge, etc.) and are awarded points quarterly that reflect the performance demonstrated in that aspect by the squadron as a whole.

At the end of the year, the leading squadron is awarded the Battle E ribbon, and the name of the squadron is added to the Shumaker Cup.
